Layout A Day Giveaway

I am so excited about the new challenges God has placed on my heart for 2010. My goals were simple for the year.

1. Be healthier and have fun doing it. So I have started a three day a week cardio dance routine learning Swing from home. Ok... I have always wanted to do this since junior high and never got the chance. I might be older than the usual beginner and look hilarious, but it is fun. I have removed sugar and soda (or pop depending on where you grew up) from my diet. I do make exceptions during the last week of the month and have a small square of dark chocolate I keep in my freezer. Those who know me understand how HUGE this is for me. The first three days were very hard but it is getting easier as the cravings disappear.

2. Document my life by the end of 2010. My goal is to write and journal my life story into a Blurb book by the end of the year. But, this week God has been tugging on my heart...

While making our genealogy album I was moved by one of the family member's documentation of their childhood. It was through Dorothy's writings that I learned about how her life was growing up. I felt like I got to know her and her siblings. So, I thought it would be good to write my life story for my son and family after me.

But is that enough?

God has been showing me this week that my story is more than just where I was born or grew up. My story is more than the things I do everyday. My story is more than my hobbies. So I was asking myself, "What is my story?" I was thinking about that and I realized that my story is the moments in my life that made me the person I am today.

The real goal and the challenge I am also giving you today is to document those moments that made you who you are. Good or bad. Document your story.

To get you motivated to scrapbook this year and to use your stash while doing it, Lain Ehmann, is generously giving away a seat at her A Layout a Day (LOAD Challenge), a way for scrappers around the globe to push themselves through "scrapper's block" and get scrapping!

This is what you will get:

-Access to an online gallery and message board at Flickr

-Daily inspiration email from Lain with a prompt (you don't have to use it), quotes, humor, and the occasional juicy tidbit about what's going on in the scrapping world

-a super-secret PDF download including some of Lain's best "fast scrapping" and "use your stash" tips

-weekly tutorials from some awesome sistah scrappers

-The opportunity to win the Grand Prize (for creating and uploading a layout each day for the entire month) as well as surPRIZES along the way that Lain will dole out as she sees fit ;)

-Tons of fun, inspiration and laughs!

-A cute blinkie to add to your site so everyone knows how awesome you are.

-and much, much more!

Adding to the excitement, I am giving away this set of tags that I created just for this giveaway!

Aren't you totally excited?! I am! Leave a comment here to enter into the giveaway and I will draw a winner Monday!

  1. what a fun project! I don't think I could do one per day... but a friend and I are in a little competition: we're going to scrap a layout each week. And if we miss a week, we owe the other a copic marker, haha!

  4. Your goals are very similar to my own for this year!

    Capture the memories
Be as healthy as I can

I love your idea of documenting my story - yes, I have scrapbooked my photos and memorabilia, but they are really just memory joggers for the story, aren't they? I think I might just follow your lead and put together my life in words.

    Thanks for the inspiration :)

  8. Ohhh Miss Lain twittered and fb'd your blog and your/her giveaway. I'm glad she did, I like what I see. Thanks for giving away a spot in her LOAD challenge.

It is such a wonderful experience, even if you don't complete all the layouts. Seeing all the layouts and stories told. It is great.
